Nobody sets out hoard. It happens as a result of trauma, neurological or physical challenges, etc. The clutter can easily pile up, often before the person really notices. In this case, the client’s living room became a catch-all for everything missing a home.
We started by creating zones and staging items to keep, to recycle, to donate, etc. One day at a time, we made decisions and moved things to their final destination. At the end, my client was very gratified to be able to see her floor and treasured possessions again. This is what freedom from clutter looks like!
This outdoor space was another catch-all for trash and debris that piled up over the years. Due to physical challenges, this client was not able to get out there and clean it up herself. This experience sadly causes people to feel shame and embarrassment.
We cleared the space of all trash and debris and contacted a hauling company to take it all away in a safe and responsible manner. Now they can powerwash and do repairs to make this porch space safe and useable again. It’s an honor to be able to come in and help.
